10 DAYS

We will be making our move from New York to Arizona in ten days. I'm really excited. We've enjoyed our 2 years here but are excited to move on. I'm REALLY nervous about the drive from New York to Arizona with the kids. Anybody have any great ideas that we could use to make the car ride a little less painful? We have a DVD player and we are buying the nintendo DS this week. Any ideas would be great.

New books for all. Braden can probably begin simple chapter books if he isn't already. Books all can listen to in the car. Singing tapes: We Sing are good. I Spy car games. They make lots of games for car travel. Plastic bins to hold everything . Then like small rounded cookie sheets the kids hold on laps to keep toys, books from slippi g off. My kids liked those doodle pads. Mr potato head. Stickers. Fresh small pillows. A bin for shoes off. Fun snacks. Knowing car will get messy but can be cleaned. Stops when all falls apart. Pstience with talking and crying. Small blankets. You might check out what fun stops you could make. Not a lot but something to break monotony of driving. Zoos. Parks. Just let Gavin know re ing there might not be the best policy: the journey is building memories for kids and nerves of steal for parents! Hopefully, they will take naps!
